Parrie Haynes Ranch-Killeen, Texas

Operated by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, and developed by the Texas Equestrian Trail Riders Association (TETRA), this (nearly) 5,000 acre ranch borders on Fort Hood and contains 29 miles of trails on East Side portion of the ranch and over 23 miles on the West Side.  Every trail contains some rocky areas and some flat prairie soil.  All must bring own camping accommodations.  There’s 20 campsites with electrical and water hookups and horse pens at most sites.  Porta-potties only.  Shoes on your horses are recommended.
